Would really appreciate some rather urgent advice!

I have have had a low mileage (1600 miles,1st reg July 2011) Polo for about 16 days, and from a V W garage I like and trust having dealt there before with a Passat they serviced for me. Its a lovely vehicle in every respect, and my wife and I are very satisfied with it.

However a warning light on the instrument cluster comes on,but intermittently, its the orange / yellow symbol, which refers to the lighting not working, all lights appear ok though (as far as I can tell) problem is I doubt it comes on when being examined by the mechanic.

They have looked at it and say" It needs a software update" but not available yet from V W.

Question is, should I wait until the software update comes in, and risk it happening again, (which might take me over the 30 days exchange date, in a warranty they gave me) or insist on another vehicle, perhaps even new?

Would really appreciate any comments
