Volvo s70 - Under heating - Humperdink

Hi all,

I drove my 1998 Volvo s70 200 miles this morning and all journey it never reached normal operating temp.

It drove totally fine but heating took a while to get properly hot.

Is this normal if not what are the consequences of an underheating car?

Thanks

No not normal. Suspect failed thermostat as the heating in these are excellent and you report a lack of heat I assume you got up to 70/75 tops. Cool running increase fuel consumption and the oil will not be at it's most efficient. Regards Peter

...and causes additional engine wear - I would agree, thermostat.
