I bought a 51 reg Clio 1.2 petrol with 66000 miles and picked it up exactly 2 weeks ago today. We've not driven it a lot during the past couple of weeks but I've felt that it's been shuddering a little when driving along. On Friday there were a couple of occasions where it failed to start once when the engine was warm but then started and I thought nothing of it
Yesterday I drove it about 10 miles to a friends to pick something up. When I went back to the car 5 minutes later it refused to start. The engine is cranking for a few seconds but doesn't catch and start. I think this model may have some kind of system that doesn't allow you to keep cranking it as it doesn't seem to let you do it for more than a few seconds.
I went back to the car after the engine had cooled down a few hours later and tried again but it still wouldn't start. Car is currently still there and I have no means of transport! Not sure if it may be related but it was raining yesterday
Any ideas what it could be? I'm currently pursuing the car trader for repair/replacement or whatever but he is hiding behind "it was a trade sale" so I'm ringing trading standards tomorrow
