Volkswagen Golf V R32 - 'Ticking' sound in R32 engine that disappears when - MrsRobinson
I have an R32 Golf that has done less than 6,000 miles from when I had it, brand new from a VW dealer, and a friend of mine, who happens to be a mechanic, noticed something today while I was chatting to him, when my car was idling. It's a 'ticking' sort of noise that seems to come from the engine area and as soon as I depress the clutch, the noise disappears -- unless the engine noise hides it when I'm driving!

I had heard a 'ticking' sound for a couple of weeks, but didn't think anything about it until he mentioned it today after he heard it! I wonder if anyone on this forum has experienced anything like it! My friend told me to contact the VW dealer as it could be the 'dual mass flywheel' (which being a blonde female, I have never heard of) and he said it should be covered under the warranty.

Thanks if anyone can help in any way and does it sound like a warranty job?
