Replaced timing chain engine set at top dead centre crank set top dead centre on rotation of crankshaft after removal of timing peg and camshaft bar the crankshaft sprocket is not rotating timing chain at this point the timing case cover is off is this normal or do i need to replace side to do the two engine revolutions even though the crankshaft sprocket does not rotate with crankshaft?

You are not making any sensr. You say you are rotating the crankshaft yetyou say your crankshaft spocket does not rotate. If that is the case the chain will not moce the the camshaft will not move. Why are you changing the chain, had it snapped. You may have sheared the crankshaft sprocket keyway. Regards Peter
