On Wednesday our car's ABS light came on & speedometer ceased to function.Took it into the dealer, who after inspection announced the ABS Control Box had packed up. As they didn't have replacement in stock would have to order it for next day delivery.
Now Despite our car being just over 4 years old, it still has done only 6,900 miles. Less than the advised 10,000 first year service mileage.
The technician suggested because of the low mileage they would phone Vauxhall to see what if anything they would offer towards cost of replacement.
They offered to pay approx. half of the cost of part & labour, leaving us with a bill of circa £300.
Given the fact we have done less than 7,000 miles it seems a bit wrong for a part like this to go wrong.
Can anybody give me any advice on the 'not fit for purpose' route I could take. Had the part not been substandard in the first place, we wouldn't have had to fork out £300.
Thanks in Advance
