Vauxhall Vectra C - Vectra c Heater matrix noisy 05 plate - The Rookie

Hi all, ive had this noisy problem for a couple of months now.

With the blower turned off, If i turn the heater tempreture dial from any position to the furthest cold point, it makes several loud clicks, for about 5 seconds then stops, and now it has started to clicking from ignition start-up, even when the temp dial is set to any other position, with the blower set to off.

Everything works fine on the blowers,AC and tempreture as it should. Directional dial for windscreen,footwell and face all works well.

Is my heater matrix on the way out, or is there something i can do as a amateur?

It sounds like the temperature control flap motor possibly jumping teeth, The motor will move probably every time you start the car as it adjusts for heater output to the ambient temperature. If everything works OK I wouldn't worry about it until it doesn't.

Thanks Pete, i presume getting in there and having a look, means dashboard out?

Don't know your particular car I'm afraid but usually it does. If its still working I would be inclined to leave it until it doesn't - unless you've got time on your hands!
