The only place I have experienced air ingress, on a Astra, was the copper washers on the top connection to the fuel filter. Hope this helps.

I've made an error. I've just been advised that it's a MK4. Also my mechanic says when he pumps desiel directly into the injectors that it runs ok at higher revs.
