oil and filter changed........ - stevie nicks
after my recent post about the tappets rattling on my mondeo, i have done an engine flush using Wynn's engine flush, fitted a new oil filter with non-return valve and changed the oil to Magnatec 5w/30. The rattle has died down a little but no too much, Does this mean it is must now be down to the tappets themselves?.........or self adjusters.

How old is the Mondeo;If earlier than 99my,it should not be on 5w/30.

Sorry;you could use 5w/30 but 10w/40 and 5w/40 were also recommended.
Formula E = 5w/30
Formula S = 5w/40
XR+ = 10w/40.
Or if you can't get anything else then Super Multigrade 10w/30;all available at your Ford dealer.

the mondeo is 1993 mk1, according to the manual and the ford dealer 5w/30 is the correct oil for this car....
