Ford Focus - Fascia electrical fault - Healey

Ford Focus - the speedo, rev counter, temp gauge and fuel gauge suddenly go to zero while driving and then come back to normal. Occasionally the engine warning light will come on for a minute and sometimes the ignition warning light does the same.

Engine performance is not affected.

It is probably a dodgy connection - but WHERE?

Wasn't there a common fault with them? Saw it on watchdog. Apparently you just have to spray the rear of the dash with WD40 to get it working again.

This is a common fault affecting Focuses on this period, due to dry soldered joints. Happened to my 2003 TDCi. Ford repaired it out of warranty for a subsidised cost of £100 (complete new instrument binnacle fitted).
