Peugot Saloon - diesel 1.6 2006 reg - Computer message - De Pollution System Faulty - cannybody22

Is this likely to be urgent and if so is it likely to be covered under extended warranty.? If not under warranty is it an expensive repair.

Have discovered information elsewhere for anyone else with this problem.
Firstly to make message disappear. Before start up press accelerator pedal to the floor and then start up . Release accelerator pedal. Beep should stop and message will not now appear.
Now replace fuel filter.(Peugeot will charge £70.00) Private garage less.
If that doesn't work Check "coolant temperature sensor" and replace if necessary.
Finally if all else has failed it may be the Particle filter.
I tried the first of these and as if by magic have not had the message since, but am having the fuel filter replaced anyway.
You could spend a lot of money for nothing if you have this problem so it is worth trying these solutions.
