Toyota Avensis 2002 model - flat spot in torque curve - geoffmead

I have had the car from new and have done 110,000 troublefree miles.

Recently I have noticed a loss of power at about 3000 revs. For example I get to 60mph in fourth then the car refuses to accelerate further. I see similar effects in other gears.

My garage has replaced my MAF sensor (at a cost of £192) but it hasn't cured the problem.

Any ideas, please?

It appears to be dropping into limp home mode you need to read the ecu for the fault codes it becomes expensive changing parts on the off chance they will cure the problem.
