BMW 3 Series Touring E91 - Intermittent Long Crank - rayleck

Car is aprox'10 months old, normally starts up from cold perfectly but every 4-5 weeks it has a habit of struggeling to start.Instead of firing up straight away the engine cranks over for about 4 seconds or so then fires up.The problems goes away but then returns like I said after 4-5 weeks.I get this problem in the middle of winter or the middle of summer so its not weather related.Have had the car in the garage once no fault found,no fault codes stored in the memory.A friend has suggested it sounds like a fuel pump problem?.

It could be anything from a faulty crank sensor - they do play up but usually when about to fail - to an intermittent ECU fault to a sticking relay...

I know it's a while ago but did you ever get this problem fixed and if so what was it??

Many thanks
