Any - Log Book - RaineMan

I was wondering if anybody had any idea how long it is taking the DVLA to issue new log books. Six weeks ago I got another car and the owner assures me he posted off the log book the following day. He also got another car (again privately) later the same day. Again the logbook was posted the next day. Neither of us has a newlogbook yet.

For a new car, got mine in a fortnight. Second hand I would expect to take longer.

Week and a half on a used car bought at a main dealer recently.

If the old owner has complied with the rules then DVLA should send him a letter of acknowledgement within 28 days. If nothing received then they should be belled.

Likewise if no new V5 received by new owner same action.

My recent change took just over 3 weeks.

Correction, just re-thought my dates and it was two and a half weeks.

Any - Log Book - notathletic

Just bought a brand new car. First registered on 13th July, V5 arrived through my letterbox on 17th. However for some reason my first names on it have been transposed so I'll see how long it takes for them to send a corrected V5.
