Ford Cougar v6 - air con pump bearings - martinbookie

hi all,

my air con pump bearings are making a noise, mainley at low refs but very noticeable, can anybody tell me do i need new pump, how much will it cost to do, could this be why my air con does'nt work, took it to be filled up with gas other day and you could here pump working.....two days later pump does not work and clutch is not spinning, could the bearing also cause the leak of gas?

I would suggest you take the car to a good independent a/con specialist and take some advice on these problems.I run a 2001 Mondeo v6 (same engine)and my a/c pump has a slight leak ,but functions ok and does not make a noise.If it is out of gas ,then it is very likely the condensor(a/c rad) has a leak.hth
