What's the 'highest-numbered' road in the UK? - OldSock

A bit of a pub quiz type of question, but any ideas on the numerically highest-numbered A or B-road?

I would guess it's somewhere in Scotland, but maybe there aren't any 4-digit roads up there?

And I've driven along it! Not the full length of it, you understand, but from the A9 to the Drumossie Hotel. Little did I realise what a significant drive that was.

The lane past my house is the D****, which beats A or B classification.

I can't remember the actual number - it only ever appears on council notices about intending roadworks.

Pedant note: M1 would beat any so far mentioned.

M1 as in "em won" = higher number than A 9999.

Try putting all the suggestions into Excel and sorting in ascending order.
