99 1.6 Trip comp not working after new batt fitted - steve88
Hi,

I was having problems getting my car to start a few weeks ago and it turned out that the battery was to blame, so I had a new one fitted. The car runs fine, but I tried using the trip computer for the first time since having the new battery fitted and it no longer works. The readout will only display the current mileage and pushing the button in the dashboard doesn't do anything.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Would having a new battery fitted possibly have caused this, or is it just a coincidence?

Sounds like the trip computor electronics have locked up.Try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins.hth

Thanks for the advice mate. I tried disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes, but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. Any other ideas? Is there a fuse anywhere that's related to the trip computer that might have blown?
