00 1.3 Clutch noise - davers125
Hello All, hoping for a bit of help please. When stationary with the clutch fully depressed i am noticing some horrible whirring noises. As i lift the clutch the higher it gets the quieter the noise, at the bite point it seems to stop completly. This has only just started to happen after owning the car for 14 months!!!

This is a symptom of a worn out clutch, so you almost certainly need a new one. Also If the bite point is at the very end of the pedal travel this is another indicator that it needs replacing.
Another method of checking is to try setting off in 3rd gear, if the car does not stall then you definitely need a new clutch.
