03 2.2 Boot lock - speedy mondeo
Hi all,

The central locking of my boot will not lock is there a fuse to change or does the lock need changing. have to drive and leave it parked with unlocked. (or its like its permenently locked but won't lock on to the catch). It started intermitently but now constant.

It could be the Gem module needs replacing, not cheap.

to get an up to date price for the Gem unit and fitting( if you need it) you will have to call a Ford garage and ask.
Or go to an auto electrician and let them have a look- it could be a fuse? or a fault elsewhere.

I am no expert thats why I took mine to the Garage.

Gem unit would be my last choice for this fault.Get a techie to check the electric latch mechanism and also the rubber "paddle " switch ,which is very often the problem with the boot system on these.hth
