Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 01 2.0 Rattle after Oil Change

01 2.0 Rattle after Oil Change - kevinb
Any advice gratefully recieved, did an oil and filter change today on my sons 306 2.0 hdi, took care not to ovefill, it went for a test drive and after a couple of mile a rattle appeared from the engine, its not there on tick over which is steady with no misfire but occurrs at around 2k rpm, wondering is some much has got behind one of the hydralic operted tappets, any ideas ?

On an HDi that can be caused by a faulty injector, I wouldn't think its anything to do with the oil change.

What grade of oil did you use?

Thanks for the feed back perhaps the oil change and the rattle are coincidental will have to get some diags done, the oil is Mobil Super S 10W 40 for diesels with turbo

Check you did not touch plug on high pressure rail when refitting top cover.
