AUDI A4 heater controller - Roger1

Anybody else waiting like me? Note of caution.

I recently bought a new A4 Avant and discovered the climate control was not working correctly. My Audi garage took a look, confirmed the fault and ordered new parts. I'm still waiting and it's been about a month so far. It seems that a large proportion of all new A4s are similarly effected (6 out of 10 from my dealer). If this proportion is extrapolated to the whole of the UK (or God forbid Europe). Then I might be waiting this time next year.

Any thoughts?

Older A4's had a problem with leaky evaporaters, but seems to have passed now. Do you know what part(s)they are waiting for?

I believed it to be the electronics of the controller. It turns out that they now have the part. Hopefully correct this time as they managed to get the wrong one first time.

Thanks Roger1. That's interesting, as the older style VAG 'Climatronic' unit was not exactly immune from failure either. Problem nowadays, is they have to be coded to the ECU, pushing us independants out of the market.
