93 2.3D electric waterpump under expansion bottle - fixador
electric water pump under/next to radiator expansion bottle.
What is the purpose of this electric pump ?
It is connected to the bottom of the expansion bottle via a short hose - then feeds to the main water pump (?)

What happens if it doesn't work ? cause i suspect mine hasn't for some years

Car manufacturers usually fit an electric booster pump to the cooling system to improve the flow of coolant to the cabin heating system.If it is not working ,then the heater may be inefficient.hth

Electrics pumps are to aid circulation as mentioned but are normally wired via a relay & designed to continue running for 5 mins after vthe engine is switched of to help with reducing hot spots in the cylinder head & reduce the risk of cracks as an engine gets hotter momentairly when switched off
