99 2.5 Step by step water pump replacement - DavidD
Hi

Can anyone please assist. The water pump on this van seems really inaccesable and I can't find a step by step online. Can anyone assist please?

If there is no haynes manual or a workshop manual just take your time take photos before hand etc.

Thanks to you both. The haynes manuals don't cover diesel so I have not purchased.
There is just no room down there!

Apparently, they are an absolute sod to do. Are you sure you want to take the job on? (Not sure about the Diesels, but the petrols need a puller to get the bottom pulley off and even then the pulley is knackered after.)

On closer inspection now we have the van up we can see the water is coming out od a small pipe connected to the water pump! Ant idea why this would pour out of here? Like an overflow pipe on a header tank.

OK, for anyone finding this page on the internet, it's a dog of a job. You have to unbolt one side of the engine and jack it up to take the pully off the pump to get it out. Their is no room! At least it does not involve the timing belt as its run on the accessory belt.
