hi im new to this ,but was wondering if anyone could help,my 406 from starting cold and warm puts plooms of smoke out the exaust ,then somtimes for no reason it raves the head of itself and the only way i can get it to stop is by stalling it can anyone please help .ps its a 1998 406 td with 130k

One of two things coke to mind.
1/. You have a breather blockage and the engine is pressuring and blowing oil into the inlet. remove the fitter cap and check for excess pressure. Or
2/. The turbo oil seals are leaking and ingesting the oil via the intercooler as fuel, That is why you can not turn it off. Remove the lower interccoler pipe and check for excess oil. Regards Peter

be sure to keep checking the oil levels if your running the engine as when the oil runs out if it is the turbo it will sieze the engine.
