1999 1.1 Ignition light come and goes. - mscott
My ignition warning light only goes out over 2500 revs and comes back on again under 2500. Do you think this more likely to be due to a slipping drive belt (there's no squealing) or an alternator fault? Thanks

Sorry, I should have said it's a 1999 model. Also, the ignition light dims slowly out as the revs go up over 2500 rather than going out suddenly.

Most probably worn brushes in the alternator. Either obtain a new brush/regulator of exchange the alternator. Regards Peter

Definitely the Alternator. Easier to get an exchange unit. Any Partco or Halfords will do one for you.
