01 1.9 struggling with cambelt tensioner for 4 hrs - hirsty

hello i started doing my cambelt on my 2001 passat 1.9 tdi pd 130. everything was going ok till i came to setting the tension. i have a guide from autodata but its not very clear about setting it, ie using a 4mm drill bit.
any help would be great as the car has to be out of the garage before the end of the night.

Engine code required here. Or is it a 1.9 tdi PD AJM. It is on the ID label in the spare wheel bay.
Post up you email address and I will send the the data sheets to deal with this. Put a couple of spaces in the address to avoid phishing and I'll take them out to reply to you.
