99 1.25 (??) Engine overheating. - carefuldriver
My son said his car temp gauge keeps going into the red and the Air Conditioning is blowing hot. Oil and water levels are fine. Any ideas.

Are all the cooling system hoses getting warm/hot? Maybe an airlock or a water pump failure? I think a/c fault is probably not related - the a/c should blow cold regardless of the coolant Temp, unless it has a seperate fault. The gauge is going into the red but is the engine actually over-heating? Could be a gauge fault
