03 2.0TDi Engine keeps cutting out. - tweacle
Hi there I have engine problems as when I start the engine from cold and drive along and then the engine will cut out when I apply the brakes. It seems to happen when I get to about 40 mph and start braking, I notice the rev dial drops to below 1 and then it normally comes back up to 1. What happens is when the engine cuts out it goes below 1 and totally cuts out. I have to restart the engine which is embarassing when in a queue.

Another thing I noticed yesterday was the coil symbol started flashing yesterday when driving along and was warm and suddenly cut out. Someone said to me that it could poss be the central locking connected?? I had problems where the double locking wouldnt work cos of a sensor problem with the bonnet lid. I cure that with spraying with WD40 and then it ok.

Can anyone help.

hello .
can you tell me is your mondeo a petrol if so is it a zetec or other or is it a diesel if so is it a tdci tdi or other ???
