In simple terms if you look between the battery and the engine just slighty upwards if the EGR valve. It looks like a small canister held on by two Hex bolts. Take ift off, remove the gasket and then clean the mating surrface. Fit a new gasket (39p from vauxhall) and then a new egr.
I did mine myslef as i was getting surging problems and it did the trick thanks to the advice on here saving loads of cash. Vauxhall do sometimes try to charge ove £120 for this. (well thats wat i got quoted anyway)
Very simple to do and always worth a try on Vauxhalls.
