1998 1.6 GTI starting & running problems - adrianwright
had ma engine bay pressure washed the other day.
couldnt get it to start after.
garage replaced ma coil pack.
drove it on slowing down car idled iraticly or stalled.
got it home dint use it for 24hrs.
started fine nd drove 400yards and jst cut out and had 2 push home due to no chance of it starting. when u try starting it fires up then cuts outs almost insantly. runs with accelorator fully down but with max rpm 1500.
please help

lesson learned?
leave bonnet up all da day to dry loike
then pull connecteras off one by one (ignition OFF) and blow a dry
replace a everything and a and try again
do not repeat the tide at scarborough under da bonnet agains a

The plugs are iirc recessed into the head with plug covers.

Take off the leads and dry the holes out and dry the leads..
