{What part of the no swearing policy did you NOT understand?
btw, it's semi synth, not semi skimmed, unless you're contemplating using milk as a lubricant ;o)}

All 1 litre top ups are robbery. Try A1 autostores or likewise for 10/40 generic semi and buy 4 or 5 litres.

I use Opie Oils on-line and wait for their frequent promotions to come round and buy a couple of 5 litres to last me through to the next promo. Good service and prices and if you want advice they know a bit about oil. No connection.

my local off licence sorry Motor factor does Comma semi at £17.99 per 4 litres (or is it 5 litres)?
Toyota sell their own oil semi synthetic at under £20..
In fact almost any Factor is reasonable...

My local VX dealer charged me 58 quid for a 20 litre can of S/S 10/40 if you're into bulk buying.
|
Morrison's sell semi sympathetic 10-40- 5ltrs for about 16 quid - used to be Texaco oil
|
Last week I purchased 5 litres semi synthetic Comma 5/30 for £14.90 from my local motor factor. Quite reasonable I think.

If you're anywhere near a "CountrywideFarmers" shop they sell various flavours of Q8 branded oils:
www.countrywidefarmers.co.uk/pws/CatalogueSearch.i...e
10W40 semi-synth £12.99
5W30 semi-synth £13.99
5W40 synthetic is £16.99
(might be 4 litre containers these days)
I have been using these oils for a few years now on several cars without any issues, YMMV.

Morrison's are quite good, I bought some 5-30 Havoline Energy synthetic a couple of weeks ago - IIRC the 10-40 S/S was about £16, as you say.
All their (Havoline) oil prices looked quite good - my 5-30 f/syn was < £20
This was in the petrol station kiosk - I didn't see any in the actual store itself.

First time I've ever heard oil being referred to as semi skimmed.

Just remember who has the edit and delete key, and also access to the forum database before you start throwing insults at people.

That's how they label it. But whenever I have bought it, I have found that particular oil to be callous, merciless, uncaring, unconcerned and unfeeling -- i.e. 100% unsympathetic.
So I now always buy fully sympathetic oil. My local garage sells me unlabelled stuff which turns out to be a really good listener, and it even hugs me when I cry.
