Hello ALL
I just got a 2001 w203 merc that's done 169000miles.All was fine until i first noticed recently on a highway that i couldn't accelerate well enough to overtake or go above 135k.For a while this was only on long distances, but recently,the car gives off a bit too much smoke and any attempts at intant accelaration gives off a screeching and hissing noise,intermittent jerks and the engine feels like its stiffled.There 's been no check engine sign and replacing the MAF,fuel filter or decarbonating the air circuit has not helped so far(though we got out huge lumps of accumulated soot).We've also not been able to diagnose any engine faults.Did i mention the awful black smoke from the exhaust??
PLEASE HELP with suggestions as i just got this car and love it so much.

My moneys on turbo problems....
get it looked at by someone who knows about Mercs.... either a dealer, on a decent independent.
