My 130 tdi estate loses power after 5 miles. Power returns when started again.
Fault code 17965 P1557 -35.
Car has been OK up to now and has done 155,000 miles.

If this happens when you put the engine under load as in accelerating up a hill, then my bet is that the variable vanes on your turbo are stuck causing the turbo to overboost.
The ECU then puts the engine into "limp" mode which can be reset by turning the ignition off then on.
Do a google search on it as there are suggested ways that may free them off.
The main dealer will tell you that you need a new turbo.

Thanks for advice . Fault code has text -Charge pressure control regulating unit surpassed.
Could it be this unit at fault?
If vanes sticking can you clean with adding something to deisel ?
