04 1.8 SCI Cooling fan? when AC turned on - 3kidssoon

When I turn the A/C on, a fan starts running under the bonnet. I've only had the car two weeks and have noticed this for the first time today after having the timing chain replaced.

On my Focus mkii, turning the a/c barely makes any difference to the engine noise but the Mondeo sounds as if the cooling fan is on. It is very audible even with the doors shut.

The fan stops immediately if I turn the a/c off.

Be really interested to hear if anyone else has noticed this? If not, looks like I need to head back to the garage.

hi you will find that the fans do run it is to cool down the gas in the system.
