05 1.6 Car Jumping/Lurching at 2000 revs? - idv
Hi

I have a Ford Focus Ghia 1.6 100ps 55 plate vehicle, which I have owned from new with no major problems before.

However since February when driving the car, when slowing down such as approaching a roundabout or climbing a hill, when the revs get to 2000 (sometimes 3000) then the car jumps, like a kangaroo until it disappears by keeping your foot hard on the accelerator.

Just recently the orange warning light appears intermittently on the dashboard when this problem occurs.

Is this a known problem with this type Focus and what could it be?

I have booked it into an Auto Electrician / Garage tomorrow to get some diagnostics done to see if there fault has registered. On the phone they mentioned it could be the coilpack?

Anybody else had this problem, I just wanted to make sure I get an idea of what it might be so I don't get ripped off tomorrow.

Kangarooing can be fuel or electrical related, see what the diags shows up.
