99 1.2 Idle speed changed since cambelt changed. - willow
Hi all

Since having my timing belt replaced I have noticed that when depressing the clutch the engine revs momentarily hang at about 2000rpm. I have taken the car back to the garage who cleaned the advance/retard mechanism but this has not cured the fault. All was well until the the timing belt replacement, do you think, or is it possible to incorrectly fit a timing belt? Other than this the car performs well

No such thing as advance/retard mechanism on this model(if it's a 99).Idle speed control valve(also known as Air By-pass Valve-ABV),TPS-throttle position sensor or clutch switch;all spring to mind.
