On the 80k service to a Z16XE engined vehicle I know a lot gets done.

I do not however have a service schedule book.

Can anyone give me a link or provide what is done please?

As the belts etc., are off being changed during this service, would changing the water pump (is there anything else that needs considering doing at the same time?) be worth the additional expense too?

Water pump can be done at same time as cam belt but that would have been at 6years/60,000 miles on a Z16XE - the Z16XEP is 10 yrs/100,000 miles. Our Corsa and 1.6 Z16XEP Zafira had big services at 4 years or 40,000 miles but that was all filters, spark plugs, brake fluid in addition to oil and oil filter not belts.

Sorry - just noticed you have an Astra G not H so could be every 4 years or 40,000 miles.

For some reason Vauxhall changed the cambelt schedule for all their 16v petrol engines to 6 yrs / 60,000 miles from 2003 onwards (apart from the Z20LET). Prior to that it was highly recommended to have it changed at 4 yrs / 40,000 miles.

If it were me, I'd get the water pump and thermostat## changed at the same time.

## that is if the cam belt has to come off to change the thermostat.

Ah yes, the theromostat!

I knew there was 'something else' in there!

Many thanks for the replies.

Cam belt was changed two years ago or 40k (yes it does a lot of miles a year).

As an aid to keep servicing costs down I went to Pentagon and took out a service plan with them. This plan covers all the servicing costs and for 3 years - plus a few other benefits.
