Motoring pictorial quiz - find supporting evidence - oilrag
Find the evidence in the image that this motoring is not occuring in the UK.

There are at least 6 indicators - rank them in priority and explain the reason.

Big file, don`t click if you don`t want a 3mg image.

(Image valid for 1 week and sorry not to re-size it. I`m learning on the Eee pc 701SD and this was taken with a camera, not the usual G600 phone that I usually use for producing a lower size image for the Web)

Looks like the cars are driving on the right, although it could be a one-way sreet.

The overhead cables are too numerous and too low - not something you would see in the UK.

Cars seem to be driving on the "wrong" side of the road. Road sign itself is not of UK design. Look at the buildings - architecture more in keeping with tropical climate. UK does not have overhead cabling like that in the picture.
Sky is blue :-)
The two bikes parked in front what looks like a blue Bedford Rascal in good nick - aren't the bikes 125cc? Ever seen a Bedford Rascal in good nick in this country, in blue?!?!

I agree, traffic does appear to be on the right and too many cables.

There's some kind of warning sign across the street I don't think I recognise.

The buildings don't look like England.

You don't often see a sky like that here!

The blue van looks like its LHD.

The light spread of the headlights, they seem to be pointing to the right, so they must drive on the right.

The aerials on top of the buildings in the background.

Sorry, wasn't inferring you'd been photoshopping, just that a blue sky is a sign that you're not in England (or at least it is now as I look out over the Pennines now which are shrouded in dull grey cloud!

Anyway here`s the conclusion ( as I`m being ordered to come and watch a film ;-)

Clues,

Overhead (low) tangle of wires and step down transformer, top of pole.
Concrete road in City
Yaok (Yaokasin) name on side of building
Bedford rascal van- 125cc bikes (no point in bigger given roads)
wrong side of road
That sky at dusk – aerials – reinforced concrete buildings (earthquake zone)
Shaded covered walkways

Plus of course the others mentioned in posts above.

Taken on 13th March 2009 at 13.11pm and 52 seconds.

Theres ¾ time drift there due to me not altering the time for two years since this camera was bought. But it puts late sunset at just after lunch – camera time.
