Driving wifes trusty zx home today when suddenly lost all gears..............gear lever flopping about everywhere.
Lifted bonnet and saw that one of the linkeage rods had vanished.............how could this happen?
Managed to drive home in fifth......can these linkeage rods be bought seperately?

Also how did it fall of in the first place?

We had a clapped out Citroen van a few years ago and one of the gear linkages used to frequently detach at one end. I still have a scar on my arm from where I burnt myself leaning over the exhaust manifold to re-attach it.
It was temporarily bodged with cable ties, but if you've lost the linkage you will need to buy a new one. They cost about £20 five years ago.
