hi, i have a question that you clued up chaps might answer for me. I have a mk3 mondeo that keeps having a problem with the offside rear handbrake sticking, when i say sticking i mean locking on, am i right in saying this is a common fault on this model. many thanks

I've changed the offside caliper on mine and is apparently common. IIRC changed mine with about 188k miles on the car.

My 03 model suffered from this. The problem was caused by the handbrake cables siezing, leaving the pads binding on the disc. It also resulted in a 'floppy' handbrake lever.
Cure was replacement cables.
P.S. The exact same thing happened on my 1993 mark 1 Mondeo.

Very common problem! same thing happened on my MKIII, new cables sorted it. Another problem was the brake calipers locking up. They cost me a few quid!
