Hi,

My peugeot 206 has a knocking noise when the accelreator is released. When driving it is fine. If i coast in neutral there is no noise and when the clutch is dissengaged the noise is reduced greatly.

Anyone have any ideas?

Seems to be a common problem with these, its a broken tooth on the diff.

New gearbox. Last one I did came in at around £800 including a new clutch. Wasted time and effort fitting a secondhand one only to find it had the same problem

£800!! not cheap! french cars indeed!!!!
