Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 2003 1.2 Crankshaft Pulley Bent

2003 1.2 Crankshaft Pulley Bent - ellielouise
I have a Renault Clio 16V Dynamique, 2003 and recently it had a knocking sound in the engine. I took it to my local Renault Garage, and they said that the Crankshaft Pulley is bent, and they are charging me £588.82! I cannot afford this, but am not sure wether that is a good quote or not.

If anyone can help me, I will be very grateful.

Why is pulley bent? Whats happened?

No its not a good price, but are they doing more than just changing the pulley?

Get another quote/opinion from another garage.

I bought the car cheaper because it was in a smash and re-done. They said something about the Heater Fan Motor aswell. But i'm not really sure what they are on about.

If the crankshaft pulley is bent I would have thought the car was pretty impossible to drive? I think you need a second opinion. I am not sure what the heater blow has got to with anything.
