Mixed tyre load rating on same axle - legal? - OldSock
Following a recent bad luck spate of punctures (three in two weeks!), I've managed to end up with tyres having different load ratings at the back of my Volvo S80.

One is a Pirelli P6000 215/55 R 16 93W (the 'standard' load rating for this vehicle), whilst the other is a Dunlop SP Sport 01 215/55 R 16 97W - an 'extra load' variant, usually specified for MPV-type applications.

It doesn't bother me that the tyres are of different makes, but I'd like to know whether the different load ratings constitute a legal 'issue'.

I doubt it, but....

If they are not of the same structure ( other than X ply/radial etc and not defined) then they should not be mixed and should be be on the same axle.

ASgain, and clutching straws they should be suitable having regard to the use to which the vehicle is being put or to the types of tyres fitted to its other whewels
