00 2.2 Dashboard problems - sparrowman
I have a W reg 2151 diesel MB Vito - on cold start, dashboard repeatedly lisghts up and switches off - all warning lights and dials. It does this for around 10 mins until warmed up, when it works fine. On one occasion, no response fom starter at all for about 10 mins, but then started fine - does any of this involve the immobiliser or are they separate problems? Mostly the van runs fine despite the dashboard. What can I do to cure the dash problem?

i have a vito 2001 with same poblem. but now the whole unit does not work at all.
all tho i have nt cured the problem yet i have been told its commen.
if the radio is nt the factory fitted one ie some one changed it at some piont check the wires as vito have a speed volume wire which slighty increses the volume when your speed picks up if fitted to different stero can cause speedo clocks to be come faultly.
all so been told that complete speedo unit does fail after 10 years due to poor ciriut board at rear of clocks .
