Hi i have a mercedes clk 2.3 kompressor 2000 model when pulling away and changing gear on releasing the clutch i hear a knock /slap from the rear , has anyone else experienced the same ?

Sounds like a worn joint. Get the car up onto a ramp but not a two poster, the drive on type to keep the weight on the wheels.
Go underneath the car and with the car in neutral grasp the propshaft and turn it to and fro listening for your noise, watch for one of the halfshafts moving more than the other, repeat with each half shaft. This may reveal a worn joint in either propshaft or half shaft or slackness in the diff. The next thing to check is all the mountings for the diff and hubs.

Hello again i finally got round to checking the propshaft, the only movement i found is where the two halfs of the prop join there is play in the toothed spline . Does this mean a new propshaft?
