2002 2.0 - petrol put into diesel - firecracker504
hi anyone help i put petrol into citreon c5 diesel.
any drained all the full system, added fresh diesel and the car started and drove, but around 35 miles later the car warning lamp came on and the car stopped, garage said i need a new fuel pump why

The pump relies on being lubricated - something that diesel is far better doing than petrol is.

How far did you drive it on petrol? Is it a Bosch system with a tank-pump?

What codes/data have the garage found to support their diagnosis.

If the high-pressure pump is damaged; you'll need a whole new system - the steel frag will have got everywhere.

How long (distance) before you drained it? Also how much petrol went in and what was the reading on the gauge when you went to fill up?
