Getting rid of minor scratches - Miller
You know the type, you would'nt notice them unless you were looking for them but they are annoying as you know they are there....

The lacquer has been marked but the paint underneath is not. Anyone know of any products that can remove these scratches painlessly? I am loathe to try any touch up pens as it is a new car and I don't want to end up making it look worse than it is!

Thanks in advance.

This type of product works on flattening the protective top coat aka clear coat that is on top of the metallic or base colour. The top coat is usually the damaged surface and not the base coat. It is the scratches/haze marks on the top coat that catch the light and using products like Scratch-X flatten or remove the ridges of the scratch and make them invisible or far less visible. Scratch-X is essentially non-abrasive so you may find it takes a bit more work and several passes but it won't strip the top coat as a more agressive and abrasive cleaner might.
