Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 2001 1.6 Heater Fan and Air Con

2001 1.6 Heater Fan and Air Con - backtodiesel
I have what appears to be a already diagnosed problem with my Y reg Ford Focus 1.6.

A fan that only works on setting 4
A air con light that only comes on when the fan is set to 1-3
Recirc works (light and function) fine

I understand from previous posts that this requires a new fan resistor pack... Can anyone tell me where/how to find it in the car and can a novice can change it.

I have already spoken to a my local AA approved garage who have told me the heater needs changing... so am a little fearful of getting fleeced!

The resistor pack is very easy to change.It is located behind and to the right of the glovebox and is secured into the heater case with 1 torx screw.You may find the wiring connector overheated /burnt but a repair plug is available from Ford.Both parts cost less than £20.hth
