i have looked at the engine and 2 of the injector pipes arent pumping any diesel to the injectors i have been told if the pump has packed up it wouldnt pump to all any of them the engine turns over but theres a load clickin noise and it will not start any help plz thanx in adavance

What happened? Where is this clicking noise coming from?

the clicking has gone now the battery was flat its only pumping diesel from the 2 left injector pipes theres no diesel from the 2 on the right it was fine and then just died as i was driving

Not good; these pumps can continue to pump at low pressure, not enough to open the injectors, even when they've failed.
A code-read is essential before anything else is done.

IIRC the TDDI has a lift pump as well as an injector pump, the lift pump could be playing up.

hi thanx for that had it put on machine today and the following codes came up
P1665 ,P1564,P1611,B3434 AND C1400 anyone ant ideas what they are i was told there all to do with the fuel thanx

Get a diesel specialist to check the pump's wiring and communications; but I've a feeling that you'll end up with a new one.

mine is a zetec , 02,94k but i will relate the tail , a few months back for no other reason then having refuel at tesco my car stuttered and stalled . i managed to get it home changed filter OK. 3 mths later same again( after filling up a tescos). would not start , took filter return pipe off, and the filter was empty.car recovered to Butlers of Armthorpe.They changed filter bleed it it ran ,stoped on road test recovered to garage. After some decussion by them ford etc the found that the primary delivery pump position under the offsiderear passenger seat was at fault, Ford quote price £460. They rang round and secured one for £200 and something fitted it and tested it , igot it back on the road in about thirty hours. cost £352.50 including vat. I was releaved having read some horror storys on this and other sites , taking weeks and cost £1500 or more.So it promted me to join this site with some good news and possilby help with this type of problem.

Hi I have a 2001 2.0l TDDI Mondeo. About 3 months ago it stalled and would not start up again, eventually when I got it started it would only rev to 2000rpm then smoke like hell and it then cut out and would not start again. I thought maybe I had just ran it out of fuel so I filled it with fuel and it started but still running rough and would not rev. I changed the fuel filter, it took a bit to start but it ran like new until a couple of days ago when it started playing up again even when full of fuel. It starts first time and runs ok when cold but as soon as it gets warm it won?t rev just smokes and dies. I took it to my local garage the mechanics looked through it and couldn?t find the cause to the problem. They plugged it up to a computer and came up with no fault codes. The only thing they could come up with was maybe a problem with the injector codes. Looking in to this problem it seems like it is just the TDCI?s that suffer from this problem or am I wrong? If it is the injector codes I have heard that it can happen again soon after it is sorted. It is an old car now everything is perfect apart from the fuelling is it worth it?
Any help would be fantastic thank you.
