Hi Backroom....My young sons going fulltime self employed with premises we need to know more about 4 post lift engineers inspections and reports, ie what points are scrutinised or even better a website that lists what the engineer will be checking so we can get his lift up to scratch .before being condemned dismally........ Any help will be most appreciated cheers... Pete

Depends on the engineer - they all have their pet hates. Generally:-
Security of mounting to the floor and the condition of the concrete.
Function of safety-lock and roll-off devices.
Condition of cables.
Function of all controls - particularly safety related ones.
Foot-trap guards/warning signs.
Electrical wiring to spec and condition.

Where abouts are you PP? I have a friend who is an installation engineer (or something like that - I forget his official title) for a local garage equipment supplier. His speciality is lifts.
